About Our Church:

Skyline Missionary Baptist Church, in Norman, Oklahoma, is in full accord with the 18 Articles of Faith and Church

Covenant as set forth in the first edition of J.M. Pendleton’s Manual for Baptist Churches.  The following historical tenants of scriptural Baptists are unequivocally and unapologetically emphasized in our services:

 

(1) Salvation is by God’s grace and not of works: Eph 2: 8,9

(2) Salvation is free: Is 55:1, Rev 22: 17

(3) Salvation is available to all: John 3:16

(4) Salvation comes by repentance and faith: Acts 20:21

(5) Salvation is secure (once saved/always saved): John 3:15; I Pet 1:5

(6) Baptism comes after Salvation: Acts 2: 41

(7) The Church is made up of saved, baptized believers (not all the saved make up the

Church), was established in Christ’s personal ministry, has never gone out of existence

since its establishment, is governed by each individual congregation based upon

democratic principles (one member/one vote), is missionary established (an arm from a

previously established scriptural Church), and will be delivered up at Christ’s 2nd coming:

Matt 16:18,19; Mark 3:13-19; Acts 1: 15-26; Math 28: 16-20; I Cor 15:24

(8) Christians are the people of God: I Pet 2: 9, 10

(9) Christ’s 2nd coming will be a general appearance, and there will be a general

resurrection and a general judgment (there will be no rapture of the Saints and Christ will

never set foot on this Earth again): Rev 1:7; II Pet 3:10; I Thes 4: 16,17; Math 25: 31-46

 

The Church is the pillar and the ground of the truth: I Tim 3:15. We will not compromise

on the truth as revealed in God’s holy scriptures (King James Version used only). 

 

Our Church was organized in 1981 from a Mission established by the Pilot Knob

Missionary Baptist Church, Pilot Knob, Missouri.
